flying south for the winter

hawk out our kitchen window

According to yesterday's local newspaper, "This is the migration route for hawks and many other birds. The hawks are right on time; the buzzards will be another week or two before the masses arrive."

Yankees are not the only ones to head south for the winter, why do you think they are called snow birds?
