I love the walking trails in this city! I walked from our campground to Sioux Park to see the William Nordermeer formal gardens. The paved walking/biking path followed alongside Rapid Creek the whole way (well except by the golf course where the path follows the street side walk - no trespassing!). The flowers are wonderful, the giant sundial, the dinosaur on the hill looking down on the park. The walk was about 6 miles round trip, a great way to spend a sunny Saturday!

summer bouquet
Labor Day weekend is here, the end of summer, the end of summer flowers. I am enjoying the last days of summer flowers here, lots of city parks and lots of flowers to see and capture in my virtual blog bouquet.

Buddy called in the middle of the day - "Whatcha doing?" Working. "The pink roses are blooming out by the shed, you should go take some pictures of them."

the show
we have lots of rhododendrons planted around the house, most of them found down along a nearby creek and transplanted here, they bloom some of the times, but this one by the steps is a store-bought variety and always puts on a show, demanding your attention as you pass

flower fix
it is that time again, filling flower boxes with colorful annuals - something I have not done for several years since we have been on the road. Annual flowers - the one thing I can grow, I know they only last one season, but I am fine with that, from May to October I get my flower fix.
