life's a trip

From our first meeting on the side of the road in '71, it seems that road trips have been part of our life. Whether traveling to a new job location or just for a fun vacation, life's a trip around here.

We've had a lot of fun on this journey:

trips to delivery rooms, emergency rooms, operating rooms, dialysis rooms

chauffeurs to ballgames, dances, skating rinks, ballet recitals, clogging practice, gymnastics, girl scout meetings

traveled to weddings, funerals, baptisms, birthday parties, family reunions

attended teacher meetings, awards programs, parades, graduations

taken vacation trips to beaches, mountains, canyons, waterfalls

gone on camping trips, boating trips, plane trips, fishing trips, rafting trips

taught our kids to ride a bike and drive a 4-wheeler and drive a car and felt their pain when they skidded or hit trees or flipped over upside down

Life's a trip when you hear those first words from your baby or those last words from your parent and all those words in between that make up the pieces of your life together.

We took a trip down the aisle 37 years ago today and have been tripping along or tripping up ever since. We have taken the scenic route, the fastest route, the slow road, the back road, have taken a few detours and dodged some potholes along the way, but we always ended up just where we were headed and back home again.

It will be fun to see what the next few years hold - fun to see what the grandkids will do or say or be. Life's a trip, we are in this journey together, so buckle up and hold on, you never know where this road will take us!
