first impressions

Is it all about image? First impression? Appearance?

Banks must project the image of strength, the first impression of safety and security, the appearance of being impenetrable.

At the Covenant Bank job, they are covering up the real strength - the steel structure - with superficial brick and cast stone.

Just look at those massive stone columns! The columns are the first thing people will notice on this building (see what it will look like here).

Doesn't this image make you feel like this is a safe place to put your money?

Where are the bars on the wondows? Or the dairy aisle....

We have a local chain, all of their branches look Greek - which is very off putting in the circa 1970's shopping centers...

Well, if I HAD any money I would certainly put it in some structure with massive columns in front. As it is, because I don't have any money, we just keep ours in our local, on-the-corner, been here over 50 years, locally owned, peoples bank.

Your hubby does good work.

It certainly looks like a safe place to me. Good solid structure! Your Buddy does a great job. It's good to know there are still craftsmen out there who take pride in their work.
