do you ever dream

do you ever dream
while sitting at this computer
that you were in fact at the beach
laid back, listening to the waves
watching the distant horizon
feeling the sand between your toes

do you ever wish
while pushing the grocery cart
that you were in fact climbing the switchbacks
on a steep mountain trail
anticipating the accomplishment
and the view at the summit

do you ever wonder
while biding time in traffic
that you were in fact sitting
in a classroom, learning something new
perhaps at medical school
or learning to paint or write

do you ever think
while riding amusement park thrill rides
that you were in fact on a rocket
gazing at Earth through your window
on your way to save the planet
from untold disaster

do you ever wonder
while living your mundane life
what in fact is your purpose
is there a divine plan
are you fulfilling your destiny
or leaving it all to fate

do you ever dream
while sitting at this computer
that you were in fact at the beach
laid back, listening to the waves
watching the distant horizon
feeling the sand between your toes

do you ever dream?

Oh, yes, I dream all the time, probably part of the reason I have so many blogs ... I do try not to inflict all my ideas on any one group of people ... lol. I really like this poem and the perfect photo with it.

I would say, at first glance, that you were longing to be some place else rather than sitting at your computer -- maybe working. But then I look at your life and know that you have opportunities to travel, hike, see, visit, do a lot of things the rest of us stay-at-homes long to do.

Are you a dreamer? Yes, you are. But so are we. We dream about winning the lottery. We dream about traveling the wide world and seeing new places. We dream about finishing college and saving the world. We dream about losing all that weight and we dream about being a better person.

Thank you for the lovely poem and for making our lives more dreamy.

Loved your photo and your poem! And yes, I dream of many things...some I get to do and some are just dreams.
