Christmas Eve reflections

the stockings are hung
the presents are wrapped
the lights twinkle on the tree

the air fills with anticipation
and scents of the season
cinnamon, pumpkin, and pine

the kids and grandkids
bake cookies for Santa
and try to be good just one more day

music fills the air
of jingle bells and silent night
setting the mood for joy and hope

from near and far the family
gathers together once again
love, laughter, and smiles will abound

Christmas Eve is here at last
we want it to hurry and get here
and we want it to never end

Oh, if it would never end. This is the best time of year. Have a wonderful time with your family. We are all atwitter with excitement. Daughter, SIL, and grandkids will be here late tonight, just in time for Santa. Now if I can only wait until morning to find out whether it's pink or blue!!!

I'm baking pumpkin pies and husband is washing the kitchen floor again. He's really been a great help.

Merry Christmas, Susan.

Such a lovely poem. It captures the feeling of the season just right. Merry Chritmas to you and your family.
