politics...

The television is one political ad after another, lots of mud-slinging going on, I thought I just had to say something, but then I saw this...

Suppose you were an idiot.
And suppose you were
a member of congress.
But I repeat myself.

~ Mark Twain

We've got our share up here too. (The VA senatorial race is a doozie this year in particular - as is the MD race for Gov.) I can't wait for election day just to be done with it.

love the quote and i tend to agree!
lots of mud-slinging but not addressing any solutions to the issues they bring up!

What has happened to politics??? When I was a kid, I was thinking just the other day, politicians running for office had staffers who thought up cute sayings, "I Like Ike," and had musical guys write theme songs and ditties that you could sing to. They were easily recognizable and sometimes got stock in your head so you were singing them all day.

Now all we see is a bunch of dirty laundry that we don't know if it is true or not. Makes me sick. Nobody is playing nice anymore and also makes me not wish to vote for them.

Greatest invention EVER is the MUTE button on my remote.

In less than a week it will be over. Thank heavens! I have gotten very good at turning out the commericals but the junk mail is sinful!

Oh, LOL - we are so sick of the mudslinging down here that my mother isn't even going to vote this year. I haven't seen it this bad in a few years. The only people I trust for the truth is the news people who dig up what the ads are saying and if it is true or not. And hey guess what a lot of it isn't right or is taken out of context.

Well I don't know much about your political system but I love the joke anyway!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend Susan.

This weekend I decided to watch some tv and have been bombarded by negative adds. I think they will backfire because I notice that they keep repeating a name so many times in the add that the name sticks in my head. I would like to hear what a candidate will do, if elected..not how bad his opponent is.

Luckily these are local elections and most of us already know the candidates who are running...So we don't have to rely on the adds.

How true! All of the politicians have to sling mud on each other, because they can't think of enough good things they've done themselves.
