Ahh the sound and feel of a gravel road, brings back memories. In search of a good picture of Harney Peak we took this forest service road, away from the tourists on the main road, able to just stop anywhere and get out and walk around.  Harney Peak is a popular hike which we plan to do while we are here.

Harney Peak is the highest natural point in South Dakota. At 7,242 feet it is also the highest summit in the United States east of the Rocky Mountains.
