traditions
This week started with the grandkids coming home from Camp Glisson, with lots of stories and songs and new friends and wishes to return next summer. The tradition continues, as their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins have all been to Glisson over the years.
They sang for us one of the new songs they learned, it sounded familiar - Leaving on a Jet Plane. Kyle said that it was from the movie Armageddon.
I couldn't pass up the opportunity to pull the dusty album out of the cabinet and show them how it was written way back in 1967 by John Denver. They sang to the CD and looked at the old album, facinated that we still had it.
Traditions continue, kids going to Camp Glisson, and it does my heart good hearing yet another generation singing the songs of John Denver.
