to be

Stuifzand (06-12-2006)

A long weekend ahead. The unofficial beginning of summer. A turning point in the year.

Today is the last day of school. Kids everywhere will scatter to their other parents' houses for the summer.

Families will be heading to the beach or camping in the mountains or to amusement parks.

For us, long holiday weekends are a time to spend at home, it is peaceful and quiet there. No traffic jams. No long lines. Just woods, a porch with rockers, a swing, a good book, some iced tea. Just be.

No, I did not take the photo above, it also looks like a good place to just be... courtesy of webshots.

I was going to ask about the photo - it is lovely! I like the beach when it is stormy...

I love this stabbing contrast to the soft sand.

Ah, the beach! I want to go there. It's a wonderful picture.
I agree....long weekends at home are the best. Sounds so peaceful there. I'd love to see your little corner in the woods.
Happy Memorial Day!
