when spring appears

Living at a campground ain't so bad…
just look at all these flowers,
and I didn't have to plant any of them!

Meadowlarks
give lusty cheers
when spring appears
when spring appears.

Buds and seeds
prick up their ears
and blades of grass
show eager spears.

And only icicles
weep tears
when spring appears
when spring appears

love the photos and poem! our daffodils and iris' are just peeping up out of the ground....they are not sure if they want to come all the way out yet.....which may be a good thing as we are supposed to get more snow this weekend. bummer!

Well, GA is a bit farther along than we are in KY. I noticed yesterday that our neighbor's forsythia was blooming and I see lots of daffodils looking lovely. Things are coming up in my yard but nothing blooming yet. My French lilac is getting green, though, and that's a sure sign of spring in my yard. We are having a cold, wet Thursday, though. In like a lion, maybe out like a lamb.

I'm sure your yard at home is starting to look lovely.

You're way ahead of us! As a matter of fact we're having yet another snow storm at the moment (nothing major compared to what we've seen lately). Thanks for this lovely glimpse of spring, and the poem...so cheery :)
You're right about the wildflower pics...they're much more interesting now than they would be in the summer. I didn't plan the timing, just didn't have the time last summer! Glad you enjoyed them. They keep disappearing a few at a time, and I keep reloading. Very annoying. Do you have this problem?

Those colors are food for the soul. Can't wait till we see them up here on the North Coast!

Spring appears to be in full swing at your place, Susan. Such a welcome sight after winter.
