tick bite update

I wrote of getting a tick bite on a previous post. Lyme disease laboratory work was inconclusive, but the doc says my symptoms were definitely from the tick bite and the antibiotics are working wonderfully. The bite was on my back, and looked like a large insect bite. She said to take better precautions next time in the woods (or just walking out the door).

Carrie said she got something at the vet's office - just one drop on the back of the neck and no ticks for a month (on the dog). Sounds good, but maybe just as a last resort. In the meantime, I found some insect repellent in the closet, and it boasts that it repels ticks, so now when I go out into the woods I have that wonderful insect repellent aroma.

Thanks to all for the well wishes.

I also get drops for Sadie (my Corgi) for the fleas, deer ticks and other bugs. They work wonderfully and it's one less thing to have to worry about.

Glad that you're okay!

Glad to hear, so far so good on the tick bite. Please do use the stuff, it sure beats the alternative...Hugs, Finn

I use Frontline Plus on all my cats which kills ticks & other creepy critters.

I use Off outdoors because of the mosquitos and I'm assuming it works for ticks too...I better check.

Glad to hear that your test was not positive...just iffy. You have made us all aware of ticks. Thanks for the public service announcement. *S*
