Holly
In the spring we are so excited by all the new blooms, the azaleas and daffodils, then summer comes with flower boxes and rhododendron blooms, and the fall leaves capture our attention for a while before they are gone. All this time the holly bushes line up at the back of the house, putting up with the hot sun and drought and rain, requiring no attention, just filling in the background. But now that all else is gone from the yard - flowers, leaves, grass - it is the holly's turn to shine.
