Well after 2 days of travel, we made it to Key West on Labor Day afternoon. We checked in to the hotel then went over to see the beach and condo we will be staying in. 
A little afternoon thunderstorm blew up, but you know what they say, if you don't like the weather in Florida, stick around a few minutes and it will change. 
With no days off for this holiday (or all year for that matter), Buddy hit the ground running on Tuesday morning, acquiring licences and permits and checking out the job site. I am burning up the internet in the hotel room working away. But at 5 o'clock it is time to enjoy the tropical pool and chill out.
We haven't played tourist much yet, just ventured out one evening to the southernmost spot in the continental US.
We met the condo owner and checked out the view we are paying for, pretty awesome! Looking forward to moving in on Sunday and getting settled down for the duration. 
So far the only colorful character we have seen is this one strutting around the parking lot of our hotel, no need for a wake-up call to the front desk, this fellow does his job every morning. Lots to see and do here, making a list so we don't miss anything. The adventure begins!
