eat your veggies

Traveling around like we do, sometimes it is hard to get your veggies... unless salsa and chips count?

We have stumbled upon a solution to that, just go to Cracker Barrel!

We are now staying less than a mile from a Cracker Barrel restaurant and have been there 3 times this week already. We are already learning the daily specials (tonight is fish - so that will make 4 times this week). They have lots of veggies, home-cooked and delicious - like fried okra and hashbrown casserole...mmm.

The store is close by, the food is good, the prices are reasonable, the folks are friendly, I don't have to cook, it is all good, right? Well, maybe not so much for my waistline...

Not sure fried okra and hashbrown casserole count as veggies.. but hey, whatever! I had creamed corn (frozen), fried green tomatoes (frozen), and turnip greens (store bought can) last night. We get our greens where we can, and that's all that matters :)

I'm all for a rest from cooking now and then, or even more often....lol.
