on the go

what would you say?

How would you caption this picture?

On top of the world!

Are you looking for a place to go?

This picture was found online, along with a lot more great National Park destinations, check it out at Secrets of the National Parks.

Looking for a hiking trail? Here in Georgia try Georgia Trails, or for trails in the Southeast US try this great site, just put in your zip code for trails near you.

Looking for a road trip? Look no further - Top 10 greatest road trips, One tank escapes, or roadside attractions and oddities.

Just remember to stay away from our part of the country. Oh yes, the scenery is beautiful and it is a popular tourist destination, but fair warning - yesterday 15-year-old granddaughter Sarah got her learner's driving permit… just so you know…. You think I am kidding, here is what she said on Facebook:

I am heading out on a road trip myself, a 'working' vacation with the old man, starting out our 37th year together. We are headed to Fancy Gap, Virginia... Appalachian mountains, Blue Ridge Parkway, camping, hiking... mmm reminds me of a song...

Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains
Shenandoah River -
Life is old there
Older than the trees
Younger than the mountains
Growin like a breeze

Maybe I will see you out there on the road, just nod or wave as you go by, and have a great trip!

Great links Susan. I'm going to save them in my favorites and use them.

I'll remember not to go too near your home. Sarah hasn't chocked up almost hitting a motorcycle yet, haha.

We've been on the go a lot this summer and you just might see Jimmy & I out there too. So please wave frantically. I'll be the one with the gray training wheels.

I would say HELP or something along those lines as I am not fond of heights--at all!

Thanks for the link to, I'm glad you find it useful. Be sure to write a trail report for the trails you hike to help others.

Have a great trip, Susan.....but just don't trip if you climb that peak.

I know you are adventurous but I don't think even you would venture up
