flower of the month

cotton-candy pink budthe flower of the month here in the mountains, rhododendron -
not to be mistaken for the May-blooming mountain laurel

rhodysaffectionately called rhodys they fill creek banks and cool places, and are most famous along the Blue Ridge Parkway this month

rhodyswe have some in the yard thanks to some creative landscaping and they seem to do just fine in the sun around the house

rhodysthe buds start out cotton-candy pink and open up to a cluster of white flowers

bees kneesthat are very popular with the local bee population
