After preparing for months and reading lots of books, Madison participated in the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl. Her team did not win, but they had a lot of fun trying.

Carrie told one of her friends that her mom could make a blanket super fast, but I turned the tables on her and taught her how to do it instead.

All three granddaughters attended the WinterJam 2009, a Christian concert with their youth group from church. Hosted by Newsong, this Christian music tour is headlined by TobyMac with Hawk Nelson, Brandon Heath, Francesca, guest speaker Tony Nolan and others.

Sarah is in Drama class and preparing for an upcoming production of Sing Down the Moon, a collection of wonder (or fairy) tales from Appalachia. Looking forward to that, pictures later!
