seasonal sights

Smokies Snow

This time of year we usually slip off for a weekend, just a little break from work and home, for the sights and sounds of Christmas in the Smokies, kind of a jump-start for the Christmas spirit.

We see and hear the same stuff every year, same shows, songs, lights etc., and although I never tire of it, this year was different. We took Melissa and 3 granddaughters with us! Everything looked and sounded different this year, more exciting, seeing it all through their eyes.

The words 'cool' and 'wow' and 'thanks for bringing us' were heard over and over. I forgot how little it takes to please a child sometimes - pretty lights, snow out the window, singing Christmas songs along with the radio.

Thank you girls for making this a great trip!

Next time, can you take me along???

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere I go, especially at work.

They have been playing the same darned Christmas music over the loudspeakers since November 1st. It's on a loop, so it keeps repeating, and repeating, and repeating, and repeating. If I hear the Nutcracker once more, I think I'll scream.

But, it's all in good fun and the decorations are lovely. Glad you had a wonderful time.

That reindeer has clearly been tippling a bit too much! Someone check the eggnog!

Your trips with the grandchildren sounded wonderful. It looked like great fun and they do believe in Christmas decorating to the max there at the Smokies. Sometimes we just ride up there just to see the Christmas lights, have dinner and come home.
