I'd like to kiss you way back in the sticks
I'd like to walk you through a field of wildflowers
And I'd like to check you for ticks
~Brad Paisley
The first day Spring has come and gone, the birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming. It just makes you want to get outside and take a walk in the woods, breathing in the fresh air.
Wintertime hiking meant heavy jackets and walking fast to keep warm. Springtime means leisurely strolls, keeping your eyes down, looking for those first wildflowers, violets, trillium.
But pretty flowers are not all you are looking for, because the warm weather brings out other folks too, like the sssneaky sssnakes, annoying insects, and the dreaded ticks.
Like most things worth enjoying, we have to take the bad with the good. Anyone up for a walk in the woods?
