We received the DVD in the mail for the Corpse Bride by Tim Burton. We popped the DVD into the player and made it through all the warnings and previews. The last one was about a girl and her dog, something about Winn-Dixie. With the picture of the girl and her dog still on the screen, the options came up, to PLAY the movie, etc. We looked at each other and said 'I thought this was Corpse Bride?' We looked at the paper sleeve the movie came in, and it said Corpse Bride. Oh, well a mixup at the Netflix. So we watched Because of Winn-Dixie, and enjoyed it probably more than Corpse Bride.
Starring Jeff Daniels (of Dumb and Dumber - sorry that's the first thing that came to mind, and we did enjoy him in The Butcher's Wife)
Annasophia Robb (Violet Beauregard on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)
Dave Matthews (of the Dave Matthews Band)
Eva Marie Saint (of lots of movies, her debut was in 1954 with Marlon Brando AND she is in the new Superman movie coming out in June)
Cicely Tyson (of lots of movies over the years)
So instead of the claymation and weirdness of Tim Burton, we had a nice movie about a girl and her dog. It was a good surprise, and we enjoyed it very much. Just a little shakeup in our nightly routine!
