Turkey day

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We were watching the news, and the announcer proclaims this day as the busiest travel day of the entire year, to expect airline delays and road closures for snow. I looked at Buddy and said 'you know what we have to do tonight - watch THE movie,' - Planes, Trains, and Automobiles with Steve Martin and John Candy. A holiday classic, two guys just trying to get home for Thanksgiving, when anything that can go wrong - does.

I had already worked half a day, then cooked the other half, but I made it through the movie without falling asleep. A great comedy, we laughed the whole way, even though we have seen it many times.

Thanksgiving Day was a great time with family. As one other blogger put it, it is so nice to have a holiday that just focuses on family without having to bring presents!
