snapshot of an era
T-shirts represent memories, some worn down, some pristine, most stashed away in a closet, now gathered together, providing a snapshot of an era.
When I sent out this message to the grandkids about saving their shirts for a quilt like the ones I had made for Melissa and Carrie, I got a big response. Sarah and Madison brought garbage bags full of saved shirts.
Not to be left out, Carrie brought hers, too. Carrie's first t-shirt quilt was made after high school and represents her school days from kindergarten through high school.
Now she has collected enough for another quilt representing the next 10 years of her life, shown above. I told her this was the last one! Buddy said I should teach the kids the process so they can carry on this tradition, sounds like a plan... Carrie!
