we are all ready for The Great Eclipse!
Record numbers of folks are expected to travel to the areas of total eclipse, and local officials in small towns are trying to gear up the best way they know how, without any previous experience. Some communities are declaring a state of disaster so they can call in the National Guard to help with traffic. Additional cell towers are being set up. Hospitals are cancelling elective surgery to free up employees for emergencies.
I plan to stay right here, but I did fill up my car gas tank, stocked up on groceries, and of course bought the special glasses.
Here in Madisonville, Kentucky, we are in The Path of Totality - sounds ominous right? We watch the network news from Evansville, IN - they are talking nonstop about The Great Eclipse, and they are reporting LIVE from here in Madisonville on Monday.
I wonder what will everyone be talking about this time next week?
this awesome eclipse quilt is featured this week at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky
