and they fall

the yard is covered

leaves fill the gutters

and pile up on the rake


So this is why they call it fall. The rain and wind last night was the beginning of the end for the colorful leaf season. Many landed in their temporary home in the yard before being raked or blown into the forest and their final resting place and the completion of the circle for another year.
