leaf looking

I heard the leaves were especially gorgeous on Highway 136 toward Amicalola Falls, so after finishing up work I pretended I was not in fact a local but an official tourist leaf-looker. It seems everyone else had the same idea, but I fit right in with the many others out swerving and stopping suddenly for the perfect shots.

That is beautiful country as your expert composition proves.

I don't think it is still there, but there used to be a lake at the top of Amicola Falls and five or so cabins around it. We used to go up every year and spend our anniversary there.

Of course that is nothing like a hop, skip, and a jump (in crow-fly distance) scoot on over there.

I envy your neighborhood choice.

No wonder you continue to live in Georgia!!! Wondrous, to say the least.

The trees in our neck of the woods are looking decidedly a bit ragged. A lot of them are becoming bare and their leaves have fallen onto the ground everywhere. I noticed my next-door neighbor actually mowed her lawn yesterday (it is dead as a door-nail and brown as poo) probably because she didn't have anything better to do with her time. Boy, did she raise a cloud of nasty dust. Our yard, by comparison, looks green and raggedy but who cares. I like the look, leaves and all.

Glad you enjoyed your ride into the countryside.

Boy do I miss the multitude of colors! Thanks for sharing them. Hopefully next year I will be in the east to see first hand again after 20 plus years!

Nice pictures. I love those waterfalls. It's a beautiful time right now. I'm worried that the rains from today and tonight here in East, TN are going to knock off a bunch of our purty leaves.

Wow! Beautiful shots! I bet you had a hard time finding a clear stretch of road, with all the leaf-lookers out driving around. We're starting to look pretty grey and bleak up here.
