running in circles

"Granma Susan will you sponsor me in the Lap-a-thon to raise money for new uniforms?" Sure, put me down for $1 a lap (x3 grandkids).

line upLast minute instructions - keep running - not fast or hard, just keep moving... go to the bathroom, fix your hair, call your mom...

they are off!And they're off! Racheal in orange finished 6 laps for 1-1/2 miles! Way to go Racheal!

run Sarah runSarah in purple finished 11 laps for almost 3 miles! Whew, good job Sarah!

don't drink and run Madison is still running...

We watched the field of runners dwindle until there were about 6 left, the sun was setting, parents were ready to go home. The runners would come 'round and shout out their lap numbers excitedly and keep on going. Madison would yell out how much money we owed her. Some parents were remembering last year when some kids went 70 laps.

Finally Madison passed by and yelled out, "1 more!" so we waited for her finish up at 40 laps (10 miles!) She really loves to run. Way to go Madison!

Wait a minute, that means I have to write a check for HOW MUCH?

Special congrats to Lucus who broke the school record with 73 laps!

Running is like mouthwash; if you can feel the burn, it's working. ~Brian Tackett

Life is short... running makes it seem longer. ~Baron Hansen

People don't know why we run, but it's the hard work you put into practice, and the reward you get from the race. ~Courtney Parsons

Afterthought - Madison loves to run. She is looking for cross-country races around the area to participate in. She says when she grows up she wants to fly around the world to run races, but she would have to win them in order to pay for the flights. I wonder how much winning a race is paying nowadays? Actually check this out, the World Cross Country Championship was in Edinburgh this year...
