At the movies - Summer Style

The summer movie season is in full swing, and we are doing our part to support the industry. On these hot summer days, the air conditioning is welcome, the popcorn is delicious hot and salty - do you want butter on that? - and the movies are plentiful.

Mission Impossible III
Far out impossible stunts and action, great summer escape movie. Tom Cruise as superspy Ethan Hunt is still fine to watch, he should just stay out of the news, off the talk show couches, and only open his mouth to flash that fabulous smile.

The Da Vinci Code
True to the book, this was all it advertised to be, a thriller, mystery, and great story. Professor Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) follows the clues to unravel the code, and what he discovers is what all the hype is about. But as they say, any publicity is good publicity. Great shots of the Louvre and other sites in Paris and London.

The Breakup
Gary and Brooke (Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Anniston) meet and fall in love, but all the good times they have were seen in the collage of photos during the opening credits. From there it was downhill, arguing and bickering, way too much of this for a comedy! Vince Vaughn is very funny, will be looking for more of him in the future. Hope Vince and Jen have a better time together in real life.

Two more summer biggies to see:

Superman Returns
(Can't resist those men in tights)

Pirates of the Carribean 2
Johnny Depp returns as Captain Jack Sparrow!

Possibly:
Lady in the Water - another project of M. Night Shamalamadingdong, as he is so lovingly called by the critics. We have seen all of his movies, I wonder if he is in this one, too? And what about red, will it also be a mysteriously prominent factor?

Definitely not:
Snakes on a Plane - the title sayssss it all - no way
