Tatting - a lost art
This is lace made by tying knots by hand, called tatting. It is about 4 inches across, so you can see how tiny the knots are. This piece was made by Aunt Bess. I am not sure when it was made, but many, many years ago. I wish I had known her when she was able to do this fine work, maybe I could have learned how.
